Strengthening Families Training
The Strengthening Families Framework, developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy, focuses on building the Protective Factors that help families stay strong and support children’s healthy development.
Through engaging and practical training sessions, participants learn how to strengthen the five protective factors that form the foundation of family well-being:
The Five Protective Factors
- Parental resilience
- Social connections
- Knowledge of parenting and child development
- Concrete support in times of need
- Children’s social and emotional competence
These workshops help educators and professionals create family-centered programs that build resilience, deepen relationships, and support children and families to thrive.
Available Training Formats
- Introductory / Overview Training: A comprehensive 1 or 2 session introduction to the framework.
- Individual Protective Factor Focus: Deep-dive training spread over 2 sessions.
- Implementation Mastery: A robust 6-session training for practical application.
